Known as Mahakal, this Jyotirlinga represents Lord Shiva as the ruler of time and death. It is one of the few temples where Lord Shiva’s idol faces south, signifying his role as the destroyer of evil. The temple is famous for its early morning 'Bhasma Aarti,'where Shiva is worshipped with sacred ash. It is believed to grant liberation from the cycle of life and death.
