Raksha Bandhan Special Darshan

Rakshabandhan 2025

Rakshabandhan 2025 celebrates the sacred bond between siblings, symbolizing love, trust and divine protection. On this day, sisters tie a rakhi on their brother’s wrist, praying for his well-being, while brothers promise lifelong support. This timeless festival blends tradition with emotion — honoring relationships and invoking blessings for a life filled with harmony and connection.

Rituals

Sisters perform aarti, apply tilak, tie the rakhi and offer sweets. Brothers respond with gifts and a vow of lifelong protection and support.

Muhurat

Shubh Rakhi Time: Starts at 1:24 PM on the day of Rakshabandhan – ideally performed during Aparahna Muhurat and avoiding Bhadra period.

Significance

Rakshabandhan represents the Sanatan values of dharma, affection and protection — strengthening familial and spiritual bonds.

Spiritual Celebration

Devotees also tie rakhis to deities like Shri Krishna, Ganesh ji, Hanuman ji or their gurus — seeking divine blessings for security and grace.

Divine Significance of Rakhi

During the Mahabharata, when Shri Krishna injured his finger, Subhadra lovingly tore a piece of her saree and tied it to stop the bleeding. Deeply moved, Krishna vowed eternal protection. This sacred act laid the spiritual foundation of Raksha Bandhan — symbolizing love, sacrifice and a bond beyond lifetimes.

Auspicious Day Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan falls on Saturday, August 9, 2025. It is advised to avoid Bhadra Kaal, as rituals performed during this period are considered inauspicious. Tying Rakhi at the right time invites divine blessings and strengthens the sacred bond of love and protection between siblings.

History & Origin of Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan finds mention in the Bhavishya Purana, where Indra’s wife tied a sacred thread on his wrist for victory in battle. In another tale, Subhadra tied Rakhi to her brother Shri Krishna, symbolizing love and divine protection. Later, Queen Karnavati sent Rakhi to Emperor Humayun, seeking his support. These timeless stories reflect Rakhi’s role as a symbol of trust, devotion and spiritual strength in relationships.
